In 1965 the civilian members at RAF Swinderby were asked to leave, as their numbers were getting too high, Jack left with some of the civilian members to form the Lincolnshire Gliding Club at Bardney. Siggy Romrig, Peter Holland and few others formed Trent Valley Gliding Club at Sturgate.
Then around the late 70’s, early 80’s, Bardney closed down, a few of their members joined us at Kirton, i.e. Tony Mawer, Mick Ward - the rest forming the new Lincolnshire Gliding Club at Strubby.
Jack was one of those early gliding pioneers in Lincolnshire and TVGC was saddened to hear of his death.
