Introductory/voucher/visitor flying

It is increasingly clear that Covid-19 will still be part of our lives for months to come, so we are slowly moving into our new ‘normal’. We are taking small steps to return to visitor flying from the 27th July. However, keeping our members and visitors safe is our number one priority and our commitment to safety is paramount.

Following guidance from the Government and the British Gliding Association, we have new visitor guidance in place. We have also answered any questions we feel you might have. Please read this before you book your flight HERE

Once you are happy you can book in as per the instructions on the voucher. Currently, we can only accept Winch Launches, 2000ft Aerotows and Introduction to Gliding vouchers. For those that hold Mile High Vouchers or are not ready to take your flight, all vouchers are automatically extended to the end of 2021.

We are going to be offering limited times as we start out. These will mainly be evenings and weekdays. This will be reviewed, and we will keep you up to date if this changes.

We thank you for your patience and support. Please message us if you have any questions.

Visitor flying is temporarily suspended.

We apologise for this, but we want to ensure everyone is kept safe.  As soon as we are able to resume, we'll post that here.

Jack Nichol - RIP

In 1965 the civilian members at RAF Swinderby were asked to leave, as their numbers were getting too high, Jack left with some of the civilian members to form the Lincolnshire Gliding Club at Bardney. Siggy Romrig, Peter Holland and few others formed Trent Valley Gliding Club at Sturgate.

Then around the late 70’s, early 80’s, Bardney closed down, a few of their members joined us at Kirton, i.e. Tony Mawer, Mick Ward - the rest forming the new Lincolnshire Gliding Club at Strubby.

Jack was one of those early gliding pioneers in Lincolnshire and TVGC was saddened to hear of his death.
